Practical help in moving forward

There are difficult times in life for all of us. Problems can appear overwhelming when kept hidden but are often more manageable when brought into the open and untangled.

Whether you prefer to talk online or meet in my Exeter therapy room, we will work together to help you gain a clearer perspective and find your way to make lasting changes.

Practical counselling

What is Practical Counselling?

It’s my belief that problems can be confronted and overcome with the help of a committed ally.  My practical counselling approach recognises that most of us don't want to be in therapy forever: we want a way to move forwards.

This is a more active approach to therapy.  My role is more than a listener and we will work as team to shine a light on the challenges you are facing.

We’ll work together to understand your goals, and choose an approach that will work for you.  It’s my priority to help you reach a successful outcome.

John Hillman in Snowdonia

In my spare time I make regular trips to the places I love, like Snowdon and Cornwall, often with my grown-up daughter.
